Vivian grew up in a small out port community, Harbour Deep, NL. Growing up in an out port gave her an insight into the atmosphere and feeling of such a lifestyle. At a very young age she found her interest in drawing and dabbled with it all through school.

Vivian continued learning about the arts through a course of self-directed studies. She discovered her love of painting and began applying her vision and her passion on canvas. She has worked in acrylics, water and oil with oil being her choice of medium. The consistency and slow drying time of oil paint allows for remarkable blending techniques.

Vivian′s ultimate goal is to become a full time professional artist so she enrolled in the two years Visual Arts Program at the College of North Atlantic and graduated very successfully in 2008. Through her studies she greatly improved her drawing and painting skills and discovered her love of sculpture as well.

Vivian′s aim is to capture the essence of each piece no matter what the medium. To each piece there is a feeling and an atmosphere to be captured. Her love of nature and the experience of her upbringing shows in her work, her passion translate to the canvas. Her use of bright colors and contrasting values and design of her work heightens the emotional content.

She has been working on numerous commissioned pieces since graduation and is continuing to further improve her skills and stay educated with current and upcoming trends in today′s art world.

She is currently residing in Deer Lake, NL raising her two children and gradually establishing her art career. She is participating in art/craft fairs, workshops, competitions and organized exhibitions. She is accepting orders for commissioned work.
